The GenZim Connection is a digital resource for young people to pick up some life skills, personal development concepts and career insights. I started the website out of a desire to give back to my home country by making myself available to teenage girls for mentorship conversations. I write monthly blogs and share insightful career videos from people in my professional network.

Why a website and why teenage girls? Most mentorship programs are exclusive to a few and start at university level. I want to do my part to provide guidance earlier and to a wide audience. Girls typically reach out for mentorship and networking less than boys, so this platform is a contribution towards balance.

The right conversations, and access to the right people at the right time could make a hugely positive difference to one's success. The issue is often that young people don't know who to ask for an objective outside opinion and whether that's genuinely a safe space. Well I'm here as part of the solution, and I really hope they reach out!
